Tokyo Olympics: Indian Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu enters with 210kg entry weight; highest among all competitors

  At the   Tokyo Olympics , Indian weightlifting sensation   Mirabai Chanu  will be entering the 49kg women’s category with an entry weight of 210kg. This will be the highest weight among all participants in her event, which takes place on 24th July at !0 am. Chanu recently won the  2020 Asian Championships  in Tashkent lifting a total weight of 205kgs while creating a world record in the clean and jerk, lifting 119kg. She won a gold medal at the 2017 World Championships and a Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. India’s Tokyo Olympics Schedule for 6th August: Bajrang Punia kickstarts his campaign, women’s hockey team plays for Bronze

  The Indian athletes pulled off a historic day on August 5 at the Tokyo Olympic Games with the bronze medal in men’s hockey and silver medal from wrestler   Ravi Kumar Dahiya . However, grapplers   Vinesh Phogat  and   Deepak Punia  bowed out from the tournament after not performing as per the set expectations. Coming to the schedule for day 15 at Tokyo 2020, the Indian contingent will participate in as many as three athletics events.   The  Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  announced the squad for the final of the  World Test Championship (WTC)  as well as the tour of England that follows. The all-important summit clash will take place from June 18 to 22 at the  Ageas Bowl  in Southampton and will see India lock horns with New Zealand.
